8 week runner duckling choking

That is very good.

Keep an eye on her in case she takes a downward turn.
Thanks yes now sounds like snoring with occasional squeak squeak . But she acting mostly normal except a little head shaking a few times. What is the protocol for choking duck ? Is there a maneuver like for choking infants? I know human cpr . I even tried blowing a few small puffs in Willows mouth when she was hardly breathing after the oil .

Is she alert and moving around?

Does she have plenty of fresh deep water? Deep enough she can dunk her head?
She has plenty of clean fresh water in deep enough dunk her whole head yes she’s alert and moving yes

I honestly have no knowledge of any Heimlich maneuver for ducks.

I think as long as she is active and drinking those are good signs she will be ok.
Has she eaten since the onset of symptoms?

If you wet her feed it will be far easier for her to eat. Just add warm water and it becomes wet mash. It only takes a couple minutes for it to soak up the water.

I would do this since her throat may be irritated.

i gave them warmed up peas for some reason I thought it might be a good idea to see if she eats and yes she did I figure peas are mushy at least in the inside . And I put a little oil on the peas olive/sunflower oil just to make them slippery

So the peas were AFTER or BEFORE the choking?
After. First choking then I tried looking in throat then the oil and looking more and neck massage and hold upside down ( which helped ) and puffs of air and refreshed all the waters again and then watched a while and last thing the peas they were mushy

How much water for one cup of feed and is crumbles good to use or pellets? I was feeding them crumbles for 6 weeks then switched to tiny duck feed pellets but ran out of those so I gave them crumbles again with of course nutrition yeast. But I also have all flock pellets here that my geese eat. And I have mazuri waterfowl maintenance feed for my adult ducks too. Which should I use to make mash?

Use the starter feed.
Both pellets and crumble can be made into mash. Pellets take more water and slightly longer to become mash.

Start small since it swells A LOT.
Try 1/4 cup crumbles to 1/4 cup warm water. Mix, wait 5 minutes then stir. It should be the consistency of cooked oatmeal. It can be a bit wetter since it's a duck. Chickens pick food up and ducks will "filter feed" as well as pick food up.
You will quickly find what works for her.

Be sure to discard uneaten wet feed to avoid bacterial growth which can kill them.

I serve only what my birds will eat in an hour or two.
For a duckling you may need to repeat the wet feed twice a day.
