The non bearded is a lot bigger than the bearded silkies.
I started to notice what possibly looks like a tiny waddle. At 8 weeks I know it’s early.
Any suggestions to what I am looking at? It’s very dominant of the little bunch.

That would be a cockerel.View attachment 4217705View attachment 4217707View attachment 4217710Hey everyone, while I know that gender can not be determined until they provide an egg or crow, I have one stumped. I ordered sexed pullets from the hatchery. 2 bearded and 1 non bearded is what I have.

Would you be so kind as to tell me something I might look for in mine, please? It's only 5 weeks old, but I mean as it grows. Are there specific things I can look for to give me a hint? I've already got 3 males that aren't happy together, another younger male that I'm going to rehome, and one that is on a watch list. I'd lime to catch Mr. Silkie as early as I can, if he's a Mr. I've tried to guess by comb since I read somewhere that males get wider combs, but it's like the comb is barely existent. That would be a cockerel.
It's not always impossible to tell the gender of silkies early, it just depends on the type of silkie.
Thank you, for the feedback. That would be a cockerel.

Females can have wide flat combs, so the wideness thing isn't always 100%.Would you be so kind as to tell me something I might look for in mine, please? It's only 5 weeks old, but I mean as it grows.
