8 Weeks. Hope of a Cockerel Dwindles

The 15yo and I banded the Splits (Lavender Orp x SLW), tonight. The red-light and phone flash portraits aren't very good, but I doubt that better photos would improve the chances of one of these being a boy.

They were not at all happy about being rousted out of bed to be banded and photographed.

What is it you are asking? If they are pullets? If so, they are pullets...

All look like pullets to me. It feels kind of odd that it would be a disappointment to anyone, since most everyone seems to want females! But you may have to try again if you want a cockerel from that cross.

I was given 4 black-split-to-lavender straight run chicks. Since I wanted a boy, naturally they're all girls.
