My 8 wk old bantie is acting roo-like and either is trying to crow or cough up a hairball. Can they start crowing that early?

Oh yeah! I have six, 8 week old Silver Grey Dorking Roosters right now, they crow daily and they all sound like they have severe sore throats!!

And my 5 week old EE's have started making a funny sound or two as well. Don't worry, you're little guy will get better with practice!!

I heard a crow from my 5 and 6 wks not sure who did it but I thought it sounded just wonderful!

My 11 week old buff orpington just crowed for the first time today. It was so cute to see him try.

good luck with the roo,
Ed

I had a 4 weeker make a "EE-rr-ahhh" 2 days ago. Very cute.

This little guy is an Antwerp Belgian and is a hoot. He'll literaly a 3rd of the size of even my smallest hen and is being tough! I just got rid of all of my roo's except one and I guess I have two now!
