So im setting eggs today! My 'bator is warming up and getting the temp set, once it holds the temp consistent then im going to put the eggs in. I still have to run around and pick them up at my friends farm.

This is what i have right now, But i'll update the list once i get the other eggs.

1. BR Australorp cross x EE
2. BR Australorp cross x Unknown!
3. Unknown x RIR
4. Unknown x RIR
5. Unknown x RIR
6 * x Blue Andalusian
7. * x Silver Spangled Hamburg (my brother said we have to keep this one if it hatches...mom dosn't know yet, lol, i'll let him handle that one)
8. * x EE
9. * x RIR
10.BR Australorp cross x Unknown!
11.BR Australorp cross x Unknown!

* The rooster is either an EE or RIR, those hens were in with two roosters

3,4,5, I don't know what breed the roo is i have a pic and hopefully can get an ID on here for it. I think it's just an EE

and 2 is a brown egg and is either an EE, BR, or Australorp

Here are pictures of the Roos

I'm setting another batch today! My bator is FULL. I have BCM's, EE, Dark Cornish, and some barnyard mixes just for fun. Here we go!!

Okay! Cool! This is my first set, is there anything special i need to do before i stick em in the bator? The Bator has held a consistent temp for the past 2 hours, do i need to clean the eggs or anything? i labeled them already

Just set them in there big end UP if you have a turner or on their sides of you don't. Don't wash them. Now for the hard part............LEAVE THEM ALONE...............for around 7 days or so before you open the bator up to candle them. The less handling the better. Note that the temperature and humidity in your incubator will change when you put the eggs in as the eggs are cooler and everything has to level out. Don't worry about it or start trying to adjust the temperature. My favorite saying right now is "Step away from the Bator!" My husband's favorite saying right now is "Stop staring at the eggs!" LOL

I'm using a Genesis 1588 with auto-turner. How about you? Do you have a turner? If not, you will have to open the incubator just enough to reach in and turn your eggs 3x a day. The auto-turner actually drives me crazy because I don't have an excuse to open the Bator.

Ill see how it works out, i got what i payed for. But its held a consistent temp for the past two hours, with out the eggs. Im going to sett in an hour or two. Im still waiting for the hens next door to lay some eggs for me, (like 9 isn't enough already!)

Have fun!! I set mine this morning. Now the waiting begins.....at least I have chicks from my last hatch to play with. My husband tolerates me keeping the babies in the house brooder for the first two weeks before they have to go out to the coop brooder.

I will! My Chicks from Mcmurray are coming in at the end of the month, about a week before these chicks are due. I want to set a dozen or half dozen polish eggs for a may 22 hatch. This fist one is just a test hatch to see if i can do it before i invest in expensive eggs

Good plan! Your hatchery chicks will help you make it through the lock-down final 3 days 'til hatch. I get seriously mental the final 3 days.
