Hi All

Tonight I turn my eggs once and tomorrow I will start turning them 3 times a day until the 18 day. I will candle them on day 7 & day 14 to see how they are doing.

I plan to give the chicks to a guy I work with as I am just hatching these eggs to see how my Brower Incubator is going to do in hatching my Black La Fleche eggs next year.

Here is my Brower, also 846 but looks just a bit different. I have three little windows on the top so I can see in. I borrowed it from a friend who got it from an old school. So far it seems to be working great. I didn't replace anything, just had to figure it out as had no instructions. Screwed the wafer on, plugged it in and monitored it for a few days, then popped my eggs in. Then, I had the thought to contact Brower and they faxed me instructions. I was happy to see that I had guessed at stuff correctly. My eggs are due to hatch in a week.

I have culled 21 eggs of the 54 I started with

. Most of the culled eggs were infertile. I have 33 eggs now and they are starting to hatch. I will post a picture of the ones that hatch in a day or two.

Flock #1 is a Buff Orpington male with Buff Orpington, White Orpington & Black Australorp females. ( 22 eggs )

I have no idea how to work it lol, DO you turn the screw at the top or the wing nut at the bottom? I plugged mine in and the light came on and it heated up to 120. I turned both the top screw and the wing nut but it hasn't decreased yet. Any tips?

I to have bought a 11670 brower model and it didnt come with instructions its my first real incubator and i dont know how to keep humidity to go past 30% dont know if this is okay in this thing but so far so good i have put eggs in it (about 70 med.to large) and i candle eggs before i put in to check airsacs then again on day 3-4 and they have heartbeats and do it again on day 5-6 and their swimming around so all seems well but im worried that the humidity is not right,should i not change it? since they are growing right like they supposed to? at this age in an incubator? i do have eggs that i put in about 4 days later and them too growing like the first batch, P.S. the temp keeps going from 101f to 110f when the temp is around 65 outside i know that past 102 isnt good for them so i turn a fan on the outside of it or i leave the lid off till the temp drops (i dont know how to turn it down) any ideas?
