8mo d’Uccles still not laying

I have been able to put two of my fingers between my pullets bones for weeks now. She has good red comb, and no eggs. I hatched her May 23! She is a Cochin Bantam. So to put it together my 8 1/2 month old Cochin Bantam pullets have still not laid an egg. I do have nesting activity though.

Is the 2 finger gap accounting for bantam size? I know it’s different based on standards/bantams

Yep! took a couple of weeks for them to lay after I felt their butt widen, lol.
I can fit two fingers between my bantam pullet’s bones, I haven’t checked my LFd for a while now, but I would think theirs would be even wider. I have pretty bony fingers though

Peeked into the coop and the nesting box material was kicked all over and there was a little hollow in the middle, but no egg yet. She’s killing me!!

Do your hens free range? Have you thoroughly checked they’re whole run? I’d give her until around mid spring before I’d start to worry about her laying. I think winter most likely delayed her laying.

The bantams do not due to hawks. It’s a 9x3 run for 3 bantams and I’ve checked it very thoroughly. I guess I hafta be patient
