8x12 chicken coop!

But I still kinda have a problem.

I have no clue which coop I wanna use. I was just kinda brain storming& wondered if it was possible to build a block coop. But I'd much rather have one that is some what permanent, but if I move I can still take it with me. Plus I really like the idea of using 5 gal buckets as nest boxes lol

That is exactly why I made this coop on bags of cement and skids! If I would to have my own place then I could take this with me. That's why I love it so much because I could move it if I wanted it to be relocated! And I have seen that kind of nest boxes before but my hens are picky haha so I never tried them!

Make the roost out of an old tree limb.
We used old cellar windows for our coop.
If you want to insulate it use hay or straw bales.
Any old extra tin for barns could go on the roof.
The tubs for nest boxes or even old drawers or milk crates.
The rest we bought haha with all my egg money. That's all I can think of for right now. I can check in some of my books I have.

Thanks, I'd just kinda like to have a coop that'll make people say something like" Hey!! That's an awesom coop, I never thought of using that!! It looks great, way to use your imagination" haha although that's not necessary, it'd still be nice to have recognize me because of my coop.

I feel the same way. I'm painting my coop this spring and I can't wait cause I might do something kind of different to it. I don't know still in the thinking process.

Same here, except I haven't built a coop yet. & also I was wondering, what height should I use? I was thinking 4ft, unless I want to be able to walk into it, then 6ft. But I don't really care about going in to it. As far as cleaning goes, I'll have a "poop tray" with some sand in it on top of the nest boxes& under the roost. All I would have to do is simply lift it off the buckets (nest boxes)& clean out the poop with a cat litter scoop. But in case it doesn't work out& I decide I don't want chickens anymore, then I could use it as a shed, if I make it 6ft in height.
