Me and my wife have recently decided to try out raising meat chickens for our small family. We’ve decided to try and raise 25 if we’re lucky buy will probably buy 30 for those unfortunate few. I want to give them the max space they need and I read about 3 sq ft per bird so I’m gonna go with a 8x12 tractor. I’ve been going back and forth on style and design tractor and think the cheapest and best solution for us is to build the base and use electrical conduit for the hoop style. I just don’t know how long of conduit to buy to make the hoops. And if anyone sees and flaws in my plans please feel free to correct me. This is out first time raising meat chickens.

I have 32 mixed layers in my 8x12 coop and have not had an issue, yet. My meat bird coop is approximately 16x14, but they have a 600sqft run adjacent to them to roam. I was looking at build a tractor for a few chickens out of treated 2x8's with cattle paneling for the canopy. To measure your conduit, first you need to figure out how high of a canopy you want.

I just finished a coop with conduit hoops and it's roughly 8x13 I'm 6'4" and can stand in it comfortably. The base is 2x4. Pm me to remind me for pics if you would like.
