Here is our 8x8 coop almost finished. Waiting for our 4 Night Gards to arrive next week before putting the 12 5 week old girls out there. We have raccoons so I put hardware cloth over the basement windows on hinges so I can put the glass in and out without losing protection. Lots of ventilation needed up here for the Maine winters to prevent frostbite.

Wouldn't they be easier to clean if they are turned over? Gosh those sure are heavy! They will NEVER wear out. Great job.

That was our original thought but now we're wondering if its better to leave them smooth side down so insects don't build nests under the mats. I found earwigs out there today. Once the girls are installed the bug situation will probably go away. And they are about 75 pounds each!!
