Thanks all! Now working on the run and securing the pop door to be raccoon-proof. If possible. I thought about rigging up my shotgun with a trigger line but thought it might be too dangerous.

My wife is very protective of these chicks and is calculating overlapping fields of fire for rifles, handguns and the above mentioned shotgun if we have any problems. These predators won't get out alive! This is war!!!

ps- Considering a replica of the Maginot Line but it didn't help France. Maybe the Berlin Wall??

looks great! wish I had gone 8X8 instead of 4X8... I only have 5 girls, but still wish I had gone bigger.

Just finished securing the pop door and then sanding down the indoor roosts and nest boxes so my little girls don't get splinters. Then we put them outside in their temporary run and I put a 10x10 tent over it because its hot and sunny. I also put a dish of cold water in there for them. Next up is some hard-boiled eggs for brunch.
Have we become chicken-obsessed?
