9.5 week old chickens : faces turning red?

Hi everyone, just wondering if this is a normal part of maturing. My buff orpingtons and red sex links have a change in facial appearance. Their faces are changing color- redder/deeper pink each day. Is this normal? Diet and behaviors are all normal. Thank you!!

You might have roosters. The color changes naturally as the chicks get older, but it usually takes several months for a pullet's face to turn red.
Can you post a picture of the chicks?

Assuming that photo isn't washed out, that's pretty pale still. I'd expect pullets to have some color to their face, but some young cockerels are screaming red by only 6 weeks or so.

Thank you for the reply. Their combs (the buffs and red sex links) are still pinkish/pale. Is that OK? Almost 10 week old hens.

Sounds normal and healthy for pullets of that age.
