Ok... I'm patient... when I wanna be.... now I've run out!

I was getting maybe 1-2 eggs a day for awhile... one silkie went broody... then I got lucky and she quit after a week because she started to molt. given that whole mess, I have 3 more besides her of laying age and they are not molting and are laying me nothing!

Its been 2 weeks without an egg... no broodies... only one is visibly molting... and the rest are too young and 3 of them my be roosters!

So what else is there for possiblities with a bunch of crazy silkies!?

Our four EEs suddenly went downhill laying and left us wondering if they were molting or reacting to the heat or what....
until hubby came in with 1/2 an eggshell he found in the nest!
Well, we also had young leghorn roosters from an embryology project, and it was a very simple matter to eliminate 50% of the suspected eggeaters.
Funny, since the leghorns are gone, egg production has resumed and all is well.
Start checking nests at odd times. Look for evidence. You never know!

I really don't think that is it, but I will watch just in case.... my 'maybe roos' are about 16-17 weeks old.

Dont worry, my silkies arent laying either

I have two 6 month old silkie girls that aren't laying yet. They're starting to irritate me

If I had a camera in the coop... hubby would finally divorce me for sure...
