9 day old CX pasting up

First time I've raised CX. I've had 2-3 day old chicks pasted up from the hatchery. No big deal to take care of, but after I clean these guys up their butt is raw. Worried they will get pecked. Also never had any chicks this old with this problem. Anything I can change to help the poo?

Put some apple cider vinegar in their water at 1 tablespoon per quart. Hope this helps!

Would you mind telling us whit hatchery you got them from? I'll be ordering some from Ideal in the spring.

The ACV did the trick! No more pasty butts. They came from Ideal, so far they are all (20) doing well.

Out of the 25 laying hens I got from Ideal, 3 showed pasty butt for 5 days. ACV in the water and it stopped after the first week.
