9 gauge vs 11.5 gauge chain link... and bears?

You're welcome. I made the half-high run to save money on materials mistake and deeply regretted it every time I had to shovel out the run.
Oof! Yeah, I can imagine... I guess I'd rather have my wallet hurt for now than have my back hurt for years to come 😊

Between the price of the 9 gauge chain link fencing material and hardware cloth, in the lengths I'm planning on making this monstrosity, I'm about to have a mini panic attack 😂 But I keep telling myself that it'll be so worth it once I see my girls enjoying their new run!

Everyone seems down on solar??? I do (and thought everyone does) just use a solar panel to keep a 12v dc battery charged that is connected to my energizer... I believe it bites as much as the same energizer on AC Keeps bears out of my bees, Usining a Patriot P10 (AC/DC convertable) energizer, a Renology 50 amp solar panel/controller kit from Amazon and a dinky scotter battery (12v/18ah). after intial charge of the battery, no problems or maint (other than occasional sometimes unitentional test of wire ) for 18mo and counting.... The P10 is rated to deliver 1j for a couple miles of fence... I figure it hits harder on 100 ft of P1 netting

I'm not down on solar -- I have Premier 1's solar intellishock charger with my electric netting. But it has it's limitations. These short days, it's hard to keep it fully-charged even though I'm in the southern part of the US.

Some believe that it doesn't deliver a strong enough shock to deter bears.
