My hen started gasping for air yesterday morning. She sounds raspy and can’t breathe well. I at once phoned the vets near me that do chickens no appointments till Monday. So I took off to get some Tylan 200 and have given her 1cc both yesterday and today along with forcing a few ccs of vitamin water. Along with vetrx to the nose. No improvement yet. She struggles to breathe. Could it be gape worm ? Where can I get real wormer in the USA not the pumpkin cayenne stuff I do that already. Links and any opinions it hurts to see her struggle so.
symptoms sudden struggling during breathing, raspy sound, maybe mucus around nose ? , weakness, sneezing.

Try to give her chicken antibiotics, I give my chickens medicated chicken food so which has antibiotics in it and so far none of them have got sick

I don’t know that much about chickens though so I can’t say anything except give her medicated food wish I could help more

Have you looked into her beak and throat for any yellow material, mucus, or other obstructions? How is the coop ventilation? Any mold, dust, or ammonia odor from poop? SafeGuard Liquid Goat Wormer 1/4 ml per pound of weight given orally for 5 consecutive days is very good for most chicken worms, including gapeworm. Gapeworm is rare, but respiratory diseases are much more common. Look for bubbles in an eye, swollen eyelids, nasal drainage, head shaking and sneezing.
