It's Big Mama! She has a ginormous comb and wattles, is shaped liked a hen, but I really thought she was a rooster. But she isn't because I caught her in the nesting box--and behold, one lovely brown egg (which I scrambled with two others and am eating right now). Soooo, my birds are all supposed to be the same age--two others have big combs and wattles and the rest all have sorta stubby pale combs. So are they THAT different in age or what?

I did pet Big Mama and thank her very much. She bokked back.

Cute.

They're just individuals with different timetables. Patience. Hard, I know.

Congrats! I love the feeling of the first egg. We just had our first yesterday but not sure who layed it.

Oh! This wasn't our first egg--probably the 7th including the two strange ones without shells--it was just fun to know who was responsible--since she is the only one I thought looked mature enough to be laying.

My others, however, I think are perpetual teenagers.

i don't have eggs yet, but i am thinking one is a roo becuase she is the only one with a big comb and has been getting her wattles...

15 weeks old...we will see.

I bet its a pullet--mine all look so different and I could have SWORN (but I didn't) I had some roos, but if Big Mama is a girl, then they all must be.
