Amy looked at Alex with a horrified expression. "No...no that won't work! We need more time!"
~~~
Author's breathing pattern changed again. (What do we do with out F.D?)
Clara made her way through the crowd to her father.
Alex sat down and sighed. He hated the King.
---
Derla roared. Benjamin ignored her.
(Um, pretend Addy was never there? I don't know. XD)
Flaming torches lit the dull, black night as the King stood upon the large stage. Gera stood behind him, covered in precious jewels and gemstones. The King ordered everyone to pay attention.
"Welcome, my people," he said, his voice boomed through the Dragon Nest. "Today, I shall be briefing you on the Riders' Rules. So, without further a do, I shall begin. As you may know, there are only a few rules, and they are as stated:
1. You must follow the set course, regardless of any obstacles that may arise.
2. Only the winner will be rewarded, all others will go unrewarded.
3. You are not permitted to leave the race, if you do your entire family will be killed and you shall be forced to participate in every race until the day you die."
The King's eyes scanned the hundreds of people in the crowd, he then continued his speech. "Also, Lillian Navy, you are now a rider. You have less than 24 hours to find yourself a dragon. Other riders would be wise to treat her well, as she will be joining you all in the races. Enjoy yourselves tonight, for the races begin tomorrow."
Frederick scowled at the King. He was disgusted, disgusted by the King's lack of respect and care for the people of Wivvera. He clenched his fist tightly, his knuckles turned white. One day, he'd make sure the King got what he deserves, regardless of what the world would think of him. He pulled up his muddy, brown boots, then glanced at Scarlett.
Shannon listened carefully to the King's briefing.
"He can't do that, Fleck! He just can't!" She whispered angrily. "He supposed to let us have at least two days of rest before the races start!"
Fleck whimpered, he pushed his head into Shannon's hands. Shannon hugged Fleck, she put her forehead to his and sighed.
Alexander glanced at Amy, then he looked at the enraged crowd. Wren laid down, he tucked his red-tipped tail under his feathers and whimpered quietly. He, like many other dragons, understood how the riders felt.
"Amy, this is bad," Alexander said, frowning. "Tomorrow is too soon..."
Lillian looked at the King. Pewi wriggled out of her arms and jumped down into a large, muddy puddle. Pewi shook the mud off of herself.
Being a maid made Lillian somewhat happy. She couldn't become a rider just like that, could she?
Benjamin kicked the wooden barn door, trying to get in.
Derla pointed at the large, fake rock using her nose. She tried to roll it over, but she couldn't do it, it was too heavy. She turned and looked at Benjamin. She roared, trying to steal their attention, even if for just one moment.
"This is awful...Though, I mean, I guess it is possible to escape. You DO have the whole world, but, it'd be a challenge, of course. And upsetting." Scarlett said.
(i'm here... what do i do... did shan delete my charecters?)
(Nope, I didn't delete your characters! :D )
Frederick looked up at Scarlett and frowned. "Escape? We can't escape. He'd find us, he'd chase us to the end of the Earth and kill us. Just like he did with my family..."
Amy grabbed a rock and chucked it against a tree. "I hate that man!! I hate him!!"
~~~~

Author rolled and fell off the table ( Sorry, I just had to say that XD )

(Hmm.....okay)

"Obviously," Alexander began. "You're not the only one."
---
Benjamin and Derla smashed open the door, only to find Author on the floor.

"You may not know, but he's not at all bright. A small piece of evidence would do him enough good to ignore it, a news paper even. If he saw your name on it and "found dead" he'd think you really were dead and he'd just ignore you, or, that's what I know. But, it'd be almost impossible to go so far." Scarlett explained.

Amy 'huffed' and sat down.

Author's breathing was still slow, but had increased slightly.

Alex turned his head to look at Amy. "Well, tomorrow is race day. You nervous?"
---
"Author!" Benjamin ran over to Author.

"A newspaper?" Frederick shook his head. "The newspapers don't tell you about all of the endless death. They only tell you about the races, and whatever the King wants the people to think."
