Alex turned his head to look at Amy. "Well, tomorrow is race day. You nervous?"
---
"Author!" Benjamin ran over to Author.
---
"A newspaper?" Frederick shook his head. "The newspapers don't tell you about all of the endless death. They only tell you about the races, and whatever the King wants the people to think."
"No...maybe....I don't know! I just...i don't know..." Amy stuttered.

Author didn't move.

Flaming torches lit the dull, black night as the King stood upon the large stage. Gera stood behind him, covered in precious jewels and gemstones. The King ordered everyone to pay attention.
"Welcome, my people," he said, his voice boomed through the Dragon Nest. "Today, I shall be briefing you on the Riders' Rules. So, without further a do, I shall begin. As you may know, there are only a few rules, and they are as stated:

1. You must follow the set course, regardless of any obstacles that may arise.

2. Only the winner will be rewarded, all others will go unrewarded.

3. You are not permitted to leave the race, if you do your entire family will be killed and you shall be forced to participate in every race until the day you die."

The King's eyes scanned the hundreds of people in the crowd, he then continued his speech. "Also, Lillian Navy, you are now a rider. You have less than 24 hours to find yourself a dragon. Other riders would be wise to treat her well, as she will be joining you all in the races. Enjoy yourselves tonight, for the races begin tomorrow."

Rebecca stood beside Legossi, distancing herself from the crowd. She didn't know any of the other riders or dragons very well, and she didn't care to. She didn't need to associate with people to do well in the races. Legossi rumbled softly and nudged Rebecca's hand. "Tomorrow, we can prove ourselves." She mumbled to herself, not paying attention to her dragon. Legossi pushed her harder, adding a puff of air from her nose to get Rebecca's attention.

"Well, I DO know about certain people who could help you..." Scarlett said, "They've literally never seen the King before, but they live in Wivvera." She whispered.

Amy forced herself to smile.

Author started jerking, as if struggling to breathe.
Alex chuckled a little.

"Never seen the King?" Frederick scowled, he knew that was impossible. "Just.. forget about it. I have a better idea.."
---
(Is it okay if I join?)
(Of course!!

Amy sighed. "I better go home and figure out what to do with Author. "

"Mind if I come with?" Alex looked at Rigs and Wren. "We're heading back that way..."
---
"Okay. May I know what this idea is?" Scarlett asked politely.

"You'll know soon enough, Princess." Frederick stood up, and whistled to Avie.
(I can PM you the plan, if you want? :D )
