6 hens laid 5 eggs in this heat! God bless my girls! I give them plenty of water, shade, fill their swimming hole, soldier worms, and freeze ice rings with peas n carrots n blueberries..... happy girls

This heat was crazy!
I kept icing the chickens water, Keeping shade, misting the run, and i gave electrolyte. Plus a fan.
Im glad its bout 80 out instead of 120.

Our heat index is 111 right now. I keep giving my flock frozen fruit and misting them with the garden hose. It's miserable!

Ya'll are doing great! My girls have frozen treats, water mist and their "swim pool" to get feet wet. Still receiving eggs...God bless all our girls! Very soon the snow will fly and we will be here with a whole new set of ideas!

My heat index has been near 110 daily for weeks now.
I have not once given my flock ice water or anything frozen.

I don't know what the index has been. Probably 105 or so. I only offer deep shade and fresh water.

Full disclosure: I did give them the last few chunks of a mixed fruit bowl that we weren't going to eat.. Didn't want to waste it.
