:lau.....the skinny ones were with room temp dough...the puffy ones were refrigerated dough. I had read cold dough will not rise as much, someone was mistaken :D

Oops, guess someone was turned around. The cold dough definitely rose more!
 
okay foiled gingerbread challenged here changing my name....
1/3 cup shortening
1 c brown sugar packed
1 1/2 c molasses
7 cups flour measure by dipping method by sifting
2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp allspice
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
chill dough bake 350.. got it out of fridge dough is like a brick cannot roll.. tastes right but dry as a bone crumbly HELP....................................................
