almost 4 month old buff laced polish the hatchery threw this one in extra. It appears someone in the coop won't leave its top hat feathers alone and keep plucking them out! 2 Roos currently co exist with this one along with 5 hens. Any guesses on gender? he or she appears to have EXTREME feather coloring changes in the last couple weeks alone!

That does look like a rooster now. Some signs of this are the pointy crest feathers, appearance of saddle feathers (pointy feathers near the tail), and red wattles. The dark reddish brown coloring on the wings is also indicative of a rooster.

If I saw a picture of just the face and wattles, I would say it might be a pullet. But everything else points to cockerel. Crazy--- I've never seen a Polish cockerel with such small wattles.

this bird was a cockeral for sure. He had a very poor attitude toward humans. bruised me good and flogged my toddler went after my husband and neighbor. unfortunately this was my first cull

i forgot to note, he was crowing at about 4.5 months and mating. Spurs did begin to develop. this is how i got final confirmation of the testosterone
