a bad day just got worse is there any hope?

ok so i posted a thread earlyer asking if it was normal for at day 20 not to hear anything and i was reasured and then 2 hours ago i had the call i had been waiting for to say my uncle had died so i had to leave the bator watching and run off to the hospital to be with the rest of the family when i get back to make a bad day worse the fan in the bator has cut out and the temp has sored have i cooked my chicks it was between 105-107 is there any hope or has my first and second hatch completely failed

and i managed to drop a concrete slab on my foot this morning and broke 3 toes

That is pretty hot, only time will tell. You don't know how long it was that hot. If it was only for a few minutes the internal temp of the egg may not have fluctuated that much. It is hard to wait but I would not throw them to the manure pile just yet. Give it another day or two.

I would take them out and candle them to see if there is any movement before I pitch them.

Don't give up all hope yet. Still air incubators always run at a higher temp than forced air. Give them a couple of more days. Good luck to you...I'm so sorry about your uncle. We have to put things in perspective sometimes, don't we??

I just had the same thing happen to me. Temp got really high. Best wishes to you. Let's hope our eggs make it.
