A Bald Eagle just checked out our chickens

I see bald eagles occasionally, and get a real thrill each time. Ill keep my chicken runs wired so I don't have to worry about the eagles, hawks, or owls.....I love chickies, but I really love those gorgeous birds of prey. Theres enough room here for all of them, and plenty of wild critters around here for the birds of prey to munch on. I would never ever even consider hurting one of them; its my job to protect my chickens without harming the wildlife here.

I am SOglad to see the responses to this thread so far. There's another board where by now someone [or more than one] would be suggesting SSSby now.
SSSin case you don't know stands for Shoot, Shovel & Shut Up.
Birds of prey and especially eagles, are beautiful birds and are welcome to an occasional chicken dinner at my place. {Of course I don't let anything I really want to keep run loose}

I'll never forget one time I saw a Bald Eagle.

I am in Oklahoma, and though they migrate at the river, that's about 50 miles from me.

Anyway, I saw it, wasn't sure, and there it came...big black bird with a white head.

I wanted to go get the camcorder, but it was flying too fast and I didn't want to miss it going over head.

Just then, it comes into perfect view...........

It was a CROW flying with a small McDonald's french fry sack in it's beak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahahahahahahahahaha

I live very close to the Mississippi River, the last time we went down to the dam to watch them fish I counted 85 of them. I could have kept counting.... I love counting all of the white heads in the trees, their nests are amazing!
