Hi there,
Wanted to introduce myself as I am a new member of BYC! I recently bought four chicken and have been waiting for them to lay their first egg. And in this process I have used this forum as my lifeline:)
I have never had chicken in my life, even though I have lived on a farm! However I love the idea of the chicken producing the eggs for us. So my husband and I built a small coop with access to a chicken run. And when we're home, they have access to free range. We live in Copenhagen area, so our space outside is quite limited.

Our kids (son, 11 and daughter, 9) are also enjoying the chicken;)

I'm sure I'll use BYC a lot, and I hope in time, that I'll be able to post answers, like the ones I read when we were in the process.:D

We have an exchange student coming from Denmark next February. We met her last summer when she came for an EF exchange trip. We hosted a boy from Finland and a Boy from Russia but she made friends with my Daughter and soon she will come visit. My son lived in Germany for a year and now works for a company that works with ships from Denmark. He is trying to learn the language. It is close to German but different so he slips into German when he can't find the right word. I think he will be very proficient soon.
