Hey Everybody,
We're kinda new here so bear with us. I raised Rhode Island Reds back in the 80's for high school FFA and was lucky enough to take a First place $500 scholarship for my efforts.....still have my plastic trophy with a big hen on top!
Anyway here I am again with new chicks and a 5 year old son who wants to learn and be like Daddy. Ain't it great! There are 5 of us in the family, me, the wife, and 3 boys-19, 14, and 5. We just moved back to the country where I grew up and had our first chicks delivered on July 7th.
We have 18 right now, 8 RIR's, 5 GLW's and 5 Speckled Sussex. So far we are having a blast- I forgot how much fun chickens are.
This website is great and I wish I had it back when I had the other hens.
Our coop isn't finished yet but there are some pics on our page.
