A bird flew into our window today and died- what is it?

There is an argument here if this is a partridge or a hawk or a falcon- we are in North East Michigan.....

Do you have a shot of it's head? Is that it's beak showing on the right?

it looks like a grouse.

I added some images to my OP..... It flew and hit a bedroom window and shattered it all the way across the room. I would say it is about 5lbs

if it's a hawk, it should have long, curved very scary looking talons.
we had a juvenile hawk get in our chicken coop and had to catch it to get it back out - it couldn't "see" the door. talons were a full half circle of dagger, about the same size and curve as the outer rim of a quarter.
