Doing net boxes that are accessed from
the outside; however, trying to figure out
how to keep water from entering. Open from
the top, as in lifting the roof, or stationary roof
and opening from the front? Any suggestions
or experience?

Stapling or nailing on strips of rubber tire inner tubes works well on the seems, they move well look nice and do the job.

I haven't had any trouble with leaking.

I'd love to see pictures- I checked your BYC site and you haven't loaded anything there. You can check out mine for great pics of my external nest box. I am doing a stationary roof- it's not roofd yet, but it does have plywood on it right now. There will be two doors that swing down on the front side of the box. I was also worried about water getting into the boxes. I plan on putting a bit of trim on the outside to prevent water from coming in and having the door "seat" inside the box.. if that makes sense? It should be harder to have water get in that way.
