The kittens are adorable, and the mother is beautiful as well!
If I ever vacation in Spain I will bring big, empty suitcases... homeless kitties melt my heart! Bless you for caring for them.
And thanks to Bwebb, glad you enjoyed the naughty kitten antics YouTube vid! It was such fun to make.
Hello, LAMchop, nice to meet you. Youll need a VERY big suitcase if you come to Spain. You wouldnt believe how many homeless and feral kittens there are here. Such a shame.
Hello again, jjthink. Well, weve taken your advice as far as we can, thank you so much. MumCat was beautifully behaved at the vets yesterday, and weve put her in the shower room for peace and quiet. Shes eating and drinking but is quieter than her usual self, so well do as you say and keep her there for longer. The kittens dont seem bothered at all that shes missing but were looking forward to a (low-key) reunion.
The Spanish vet was brilliant, in spite of the kittens shockingly bad behaviour. He comes to the Shelter and treats all the animals at cost price, and although the premises are run down, all the animals there are well cared for and happy. This is the vet blowing on one kittens face to get her to swallow her worming pill. It worked!
The other kitten was awful, and escaped into the operating theatre and hid. The assistant had to get her out from under a cupboard with a broom handle. Choccy-Paws (the little boy were keeping) flatly refused to swallow his pill, in spite of the vet blowing on his face. It took 4 of us to hold him, and he still wouldnt take it, so the vet held him upside down under a dripping tap. The drips of water in his mouth worked, and he swallowed -- whew!
When we got back from the vets, Joe was desperate to watch England playing in the World Cup. The kittens decided they wanted to sleep in his favourite TV chair, so he had to make do with an uncomfortable chair. What a softy!
