We have one chick that is smaller than the others and a sleepy chick. She seems to be eating and drinking. We got them on Wed, they were hatched on the 4th. This chick was not acting well when we got her out of the shipping box, but perked up shortly after. Is there anything extra we can give her to give her a boost? Right now they have their food and water in the cage. I don't want to loose here.

Thanks

You could give her some pedialyte or a little sugar water. Just a few drops every few hours. Good luck! Also, make sure she doesn't have any poop stuck to her bottom.

I cleaned her bottom this morning, I noticed it was getting messy. Looked just fine after that.

You could also give her some poly vi sol vitamin drops without iron It's for human infants but a lot of folks use it for their chicks too.

What about the vitamin and electrolyte solution I have seen at the feed store that you add to their water? Right now we have plain water.

I just checked on her and she doesn't look good, won't open her eyes and won't move around. I don't think shes going to make it.

drip feed powerade. electrolytes and vitamin B complex. It usually turns them around in 48 hours. Wish you the best!

She just passed away in my hand, sad day, the other healthy 3 put a smile on my face, they have grown so much already in just 2 days. Thanks for you support.

I am so sorry to hear that. Sometimes those things just happen.
