A Breeding Question

I hope this is the right forum lol!

I have various breeds of chickens and a couple that I would like to breed specifically. Right now all are free ranging but I have a couple smaller pens to breed specific hens to a roo. How long do they need to be together before I know the eggs have been bred by that roo for sure?

well, you want to wait over 3 weeks to make sure your other roos sperm isn't still in there and depending on how many hens i would wait a couple days!

About a month. I would separate hens but wait to add the rooster. Make sure any mixes are not possible. Before you add the new roo to the pens check eggs to make sure they aren’t fertile.
