Does that make it a chickling?

Picked up my new brooder babies the other day.
Breeder accidentally mixed a chicken egg into the duck incubator and had no other incubated chicks in that batch.
Free chick with duckling purchase, how could I say no?

Trouble is only just down the road I imagine.
These are all my youngest birds. Ducklings hatched Sunday, chick would be a few days older.

I loves them. They loves each other. Will love endure the difference in species?

I don't think it will unless the duckling turns out to be a drake, and a drake can really hurt chickens !

Once they mature and no longer need each other things definitely will change. You can always rehome the chick once it matures. I'm raising a Duckling with a chick right now and they are best buddies too. I definitely will separate them when they no longer need each other..
