This little gal had to move in with the ducklings. Everybody seems happy with the setup. She climbs over them like a puppy and settles herself. They just shift a little. ❤️

Be careful bonding different species. They will often try mating each other at sexual maturity. Yours has a very pink comb, and may be a male. I allowed a young cockeral to stay with my turkeys. He scalped an older hen at sexual maturity trying to mate and dominate her. If your chick is a female, the ducks may try to mate it. Just something to keep in mind.

Thank you! These are my first ducks so I’m figuring things out. When that chick grows all her feathers back from being pecked, and she gets a little bigger, I will try moving her back in with the hens. For now, I’m glad the ducks are letting her hang out. I had hoped to house all of the birds together in the end but the more I read, I am rethinking that. I do not have any roosters but one of these ducklings could turn out to be male so that wouldn’t work either. Luckily I am on 18 acres and already have an area where the ducks can live with a little sprucing up. Thank you for the input!!

You can house multiple species together as long as they know which species they belong to. Those brooded together will believe they are the same species, and that's where people have problems. As long as species are compatible and all get lots of room you can successfully house some together.
