A chicken called Dave ?

They don't care what you call them, just so long as you don't call them late for treats!!

Our girls have rather run of the mill names for the most part with a couple of exceptions.....

Rita, Abigail, Clarrissa, Lacey, Rachel, Rosie, April, June(bug). The more left field names are Fussbutt, Gimpy, Brewenna, and Dizzy Lizzie, (she's my special needs child. A story I'll explain some day when I have more time) more respectfully refered to these days as LizzyBeth, or, if she's in trouble for getting into the flower bed yet again, Miss Elizabeth! You know, kind of like when you fuss at one of your kids, and you use their middle name...how else do they know when they're really in trouble!!

Yup, you can name them just about anything you want to. They don't really seem to mind. Just so long as you call them and they come a-running, that's all that really matters!

I have EE named Taquito.

She is well adjusted. And a chick they teased for her name. But when she grew up and started to lay pretty eggs. she realized how special her name is.

I can totally relate (except for the egg laying part). My name is Kismet and I was teased horribly was a kid. Now I love my name and would not change it for anything.

I have a hen named Einstein cuz she feathered out but carried her fuzz on her head and looked like Einstein. Not that she is the smartest bird but it stuck.

Change the spelling like...Dayv, or Daive.

don't feel bad about naming her dave.....my given name is Gillian but i go as Gill, ..... i get phone calls like yes hi mrs smythe...is you husband Gill home?, and so forth...plus my 15 year old daughter has a bantie rooster name Buffy

We had a girl cat named "Fred" --named by my 22 yr old dd!!!

Fred did NOT care on bit --what her name was!!! So, I think you hen will be just as happy as Dave. LOL
