A Cooled Area for Chickens?

I know I am a crazy chicken lady, having said that, has anyone every built a small air conditioned room for their chickens? It gets very hot on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and I am thinking ahead. There are plans in the works to build my two girlies a covered porch with an outdoor ceiling fan, a swimming pool, toys, and plenty to do. I am wondering if I should build them a little room and put a small a/c unit in it.

My girls are spoiled, but they are so much fun and they are so darn comical!

I believe there are a few people on here that have used something similar to a window ac unit.
