We made our coop with the laying boxes outside the coop. Don't know if that's normal or what, but it's how we did it for whatever reason. Well, those little jokers discovered these nice, roomy boxes with pine shavings in it night before last and they won't go anywhere near the coop now. Have I created seven little feathered monsters? Should I redesign my coop? When it gets cold, will they be bright enough to recognize the need for the shelter of their coop? Will this habit of theirs effect them when it comes to laying time (which I hope is pretty soon.)?

They are also turning down feed in favor of "poke salad" which we left growing in their run. Don't even ask what happens if I dare show up without applesauce, popcorn or a banana or three.

Dang...these little critters sure can be snots when they want to be!

* Maybe they think the outside nest boxes are a NEW coop??? (

Can somebody delete my d.p.'s for me??)
