A couple of coop questions!

I live in north central Florida. On really cold nights when it gets around or below freezing here in the winter, I have a red heat lamp that I put over an area of their roost. They will move around until they find their ideal spot. I have the lamp tightly clamped up and the cord put where they can't each it. I use a brooder lamp, but mine has clamps on it.

I have had them outside the past 2 nights and been a worried chickie momma both nights. The first night when I checked on them they were huddled. So last night, I lowered the light just a little bit (I didn't turn it on until the sun went down last night) and the temp stayed above 75 while outside it was 55. When I checked on them this morning they were running all around and looked happy as could be. When the outside temp gets around 65 I will go and turn the light off for the rest of the day so they have just the natural light. I do want to get the heat light because I don't want them used to daylight 24/7!!!
