A few weeks ago we had to get rid of one of our ladies when she turned out to be a he. Always a bit aggressive, the crowing was a wake up call to look online, and she was definitely a roo. We gave her away to a nice family out of the city.

Today, I woke up to crowing again. This time, I noticed that the water bowl had been turned over. Conflicting things I've read online say if distressed a hen will crow. Our ladies are 3, and 3 1/2 months old. The one that was crowing hasn't shown any other "rooster" tell tail signs, and she looks much more hen like than roo like. Please calm my fears that we have yet another boy!

The alpha hen may crow at times if there is a predator about.

Hopefully your girls will lay eggs in 4-6 weeks just to confirm their sex!

looks like a rooster by the pointed tail feathers. Sorry

I think so too. I've been comparing pictures on the web to see the differences. As my dear FIL says, "if it crows you can usually bet it ain't gonna lay no eggs!"
Sorry.
