A day in the life...

...of my chickens. I followed the girls into the woods this morning, they let me tag along without mobbing me too much. It has rained for the last 36 hours, so we were all happy to see some sunshine. Thought I'd share with a little photojournal, just because.

Thank you, we're working on it, we only moved in a little less than a year ago. In fact, I'd never even considered having chickens until we moved out here.

How much space do you have fenced for them, and do they ever get over the fence? It's a very nice chicken set-up!

They have the entire back yard less the veggie garden, totaling about 3/4+ acre. It is fenced in by a 4', 2x4 farm fence. The roo has flown up and landed on some of the support beams but no one has at this point attempted to fly over. A few have gone under when I was working on the other side of the fence & they wanted to join me. The dogs also free range with the chickens in the back yard. Except for the front yard, all is surrounded by our woods.
