We broke two eggs - like over easy - nothing at all, were told it was that those eggs were not fertilized. So we open a third "heavy" one and it was a little chick, that looked very formed, eyes and all, but just dead... was it perhaps a live but when we opened it died or was it already dead - and also there was a distinct smell and there was yolk stuff, with red...
???
We are now on day like, 22 and they should have hatched at 18ish..... do we keep the last few in or say "enough is enough"...
We have bob white (50) eggs on the way to hatch......
This was our first experience.
It was so sad ... I can't believe the feeling of sadness to see this little dead chick...
What went wrong do you think? He looked just a day or so from hatching....
