They are 6-8 weeks old -- yes, just past the "alien" stage.

They are so much fun to hang out with -- working in the yard has never been so hilarious. And I am amazed at their gorgeous feathers! It's hard to get shots of them that are actually in focus though -- they are constantly on the move!!! Figured out a little secret today though, for chicken photography: hold one hostage, and she peeps and calls the others to come, so then I can get good shots of the others looking in my direction! Ha ha ha....

I used to have a RSL that was more white than red. She looked like Antique Lace. Each vein of her feathers had a delicate rust tone running though them. Stupid feral cat got her.

I love how the feathers change and become more defined as they grow older.
