Well, I just lost a 1 1/2 week old Buff Orpington. She seemed fine yesterday when I went in to clean their cage. Then this morning she was sitting humped up by herself. I isolated her from the rest which are 5 weeks old. The I set to cleaning out the cage the rest were in. By the time I finished cleaning that cage, I checked on her & she was dead. Out of 9 chicks I have lost 5 & I do not know why. I am new at this.
I have probiotics & eletrolites in their water. Does it make a different as to whether I use our well water or should I use distilled water? When I mix the solution with the well water it turns cloudy looking. When its mixed with distilled water its orange in color. So, I don't know which is better for my chicks?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!
