It was a black dog, medium height, but skinny with kind of a whispy tail. Could have been black lab mix with shepard or whippet. That is my best guess. My mastiff mix is okay around the chickens and she is a big girl!

I had a dog attack it was a lapso apso mix it was around my chickens place and the oldest grand duaghter got it before it did damage one day but not long after that it got into the fenced in area. The day before this same dog had got a squirrel and the oldest got bit by the squirrel I was not sure of what a squirrel can carry and I tell the kids when I handle any wild animal I KNOW HOW TO HANDLE THEM anyhow I had called to had this dog and he said he didn't own it but said he was keeping it for the owners I HEARD DIFFERENT anyhow I told him if the dog gets into my chickens which they were just small and not out side long I would kill the dog, He didn't seem to like this but I said I have every right to protect my animals in which ever way I see fit he said about our dogs ran at one time and I said if they were attacking any of your animals and you shot the dog(s) I would think you would bring the body to me and tell me this was so.

Well the next day I came out to feed my chickens and I saw one out of the fenced in area there is no way she could of got out it is completely inclosed so I walked to see how in the heck she got out no mind you I don't here anything, then I see there is no one outside odd. so now I got into the coop and I see a dog the same dog from the day before, it ran out to the fenced in area and then back to the coop I grabbed it and was not kind I saw my one cornish rock blood down the neck and the other one was pinned to the corner the others where in another corner I call to the guy but he was not home I called to the previous owner and told her what had happened and I don't know if my two Cornish rocks will live I have not seen where the blood is from and one don't look good at all. I didn't have a gun at that time we had to put all our guns to a brothers house because his one daughter was on probation and she can't be somewhere that there are guns, anyhow I took the dog a threw it (YES LITERALLY) in a dog crate.

I then went to tend to my chickens, My Cornish rooster had a puncture wound which I washed off with warm water first so I could see all that was wrong then I use betadine and made sure it got in the hole and put some Vaseline over it so not to have the red showing or if it bled a little it would not show. the other one my hen she looked like she had feather pulled out and not real damage. like the dog was standing on her and pulling feathers out. I took a good look at both and that is all that I could see I took a look at the rest and they were fine, but the one that got out I was worried she would not come back. I was told if you have them in for a week they know where they live but we had a hawk around and there was a dog next door and I just thought she would be got. but come time to go to bed she come back she was in the right spot and she was clucking I think so I could find her I ran over to the neighbors yard and got her I am sure she told everyone of the day she was not with them and the two Cornish lived all I think were traumatized and I just let them be and kept the kids away from them so they were not disturbed if it could be helped.

That day we fixed the fenced in area and put hog wire over it all and I called the people who have this and told them we fixed the fenced in area and if the dog digs under the fence (this is the only way NOW he can get in) I WILL SHOOT IT DEAD I have a 22 call now which I should of had and I am not fearful of killing a animal that is attacking my animals.

I had a dog behind us that dug under the fence to get to my goats I told the owner I was going to kill his dog if I see it hurting my goats. it got in and I grabbed it but I don't think it was to hurt them my one was wet on the head but she had no marks she I think he was licking her head not chewing on her. I the dog was a pit bull he said I think it was a mix maybe pit in it very big dog. but it was a very nice dog. I think it was just chasing them around but the owner put a electric fence up and that was that no more trouble with the dog. well the dog got loose and came to see us but it was not a problem anymore.

I find once you tell the owner you are to kill the dog they do something, I had a dog kill one of my rabbits and I had a shot to kill it but as I was to take it it was against the fence of the neighbors yard and I didn't take the shot I didn't know where the neighbors dog was and I didn't want to kill the neighbors dog or hurt it so I didn't take the shot. The animal control said if I see a dog at my cages or hurting my animals I can shoot it and I don't have to call them just get rids of the body.
