After four years of raising chickens I finally got "purebred" Easter Eggers and purebred Silkies! It seems they always sell out of those breeds just before I order my chicks for the year, but not this time. I just picked them up today, they are healthy and active. I can't wait to add them to my flock. I also got a Bourbon Red turkey that seems substantially less active, does anyone know if turkeys are just more laid back than chickens? I have never raised a turkey before.

from Alabama. Glad you joined us. I've never really noticed our turkey poults being less active than chicks, but I've read that they have poor vision right after hatching so maybe that could account for the difference in behavior you're noticing.

Congrats on your new additions and good luck

Hi and :welcome

That's awesome that you got the breeds you wanted!
Enjoy your chickens. :D

P.S. Not sure about the turkey, never had those myself either. You should ask around in the turkey section if you're concerned.
