A duck with one leg-PLEASE HELP!!!!!

It's going to have to come out of the water to eat? that is when it will be in danger. Start by taking some feed to shore edge and feeding it there. Getting it use to you. If you have friends that can help you might be able to take a large fishing net and catch it. It might not be easy but can be done with patience I rescued 2 ducks from our river by making friends with them then using a dog X pen set up at waters edge with the one end open to the water they got use to going in to eat once I got them to the back of the pen for eating I closed up the end that was open picked them up and brought them home. This took about 2 weeks total.

I’ve fed it many times so when it sees me it comes so could feed it but not too close because you can tell it’s very timid. I feed all the ducks down there so many are used to me including this one moscovy duck that’s follows me everywhere and eats out of my hand, I’m sure I could get it to get used to me I’m just scared to make it worse if the duck is doing fine, I’m not there every minute of the day though so I don’t know how miserable it is

I’d have to take home the Muscovy too I have Muscovys they are such awesome ducks. Well on the little Call duck I guess your own judgement on it.

I’d have to take home the Muscovy too I have Muscovys they are such awesome ducks. Well on the little Call duck I guess your own judgement on it.

I used to have 2 Muscovys and I loved them... I love the moscovy I feed right now he is an awesome duck and he recognizes me and everything- I was once on the rock fishing and he flew all the way over to me just to site and hang out until I left

Bring the duck home where it will be safe. When you held it before, did it have two legs? Or is that more recent?

Since you said that you've seen it "many times", and you've picked it up..you've fed it-so you know that it is eating, which all leads me to believe it is doing just fine. You may feel sorry for it because of the leg but it appears to me there is no real need to interfere. If you believe the leg could be tucked up then call animal control, inform & let them assess the situation. You can let them know you are willing and capable of taking in the duck if need be but let them decide if that is necessary. As you've said, we may mean well but our interference causes more stress or harm than good.
