This feeder is a 5 gallon bucket and a feeder pan that was put up three to four inches up by L brackets to allow the pellets or crumbs to flow out and it works great.

Can you tell me how you built this? I get the general idea (feed goes out bottom of bucket and fills pan as the chickens eat what's in the pan), but I can't figure out the specifics - did you cut away the entire bottom of the bucket or just drill some holes (and if so, how big/how many?)? How big of L brackets did you use (so what's the space b/n the pan and the bucket bottom?)?

Great idea - I have GOT to do something like this and soon!!!

Its really easy all you have to do is cut the entire bottom out and all I did was eye ball to see how high I wanted the bucket to be and then bolt it on. The bucket is roughly 4inches high off of the pan.
