Well, that explains it. i thought the black beard would make the faverolle a male but I was confused when none of the other boy like feathers came in. I received her as a mystery chick ordered from cackle thru a feed store. Somehow, out of 12 chicks(6 ee, 5 BR, 1 fav), I don't think I've got a single rooster! I was assuming I'd get at least half roosters and have my pick of a few for the freezer and one to keep for makin' chicks next year. Well, the faverolle went from Daisy to Duke and I guess she's back to being called Daisy. It sure makes it hard to decide who gets to go to freezer camp. But Daisy is so cute and sweet and verrrry talkative. She just is always telling everyone what she thinks!.

Thanks! The Salmon Faverolle roo will be tri-colored, while the hen is basically one color. After they hatch, the males will start to develop black wing feathers.
