Next newbie question.... our temps here have been upper 90's during the day but in the mid to upper 70's overnight. I've had a heat lamp come on at night to make sure they don't get too chilled.

I've noticed my three orpington chicks are already feathering on their wings.... my ducklings are all still fuzzy. Do you keep these guys under heat lamps until they are fully feathered?

No, I'll turn it off tonight and see if they are huddled in the AM.

If it's high 70's at night they should do fine as long as there isn't a strong wind blowing over them. Oh and when you have the light on where are they? under it or far from it? that is a good way of knowing if they still need it.
