A few last minute BQ questions as mine are starting to hatch!!

So for litter, what is the preferred for button quail chicks?

Weird question lol, but do quail chicks cheep like a normal chick does?

I think those are my only two questions for now, thankyou to all who can answer these questions!

anyone? O and does anyone recommend wetting down the starter for the quail chicks irst couple days?

For the first 4 to 5 weeks I use paper towels. This way you can roll up the dirty and unroll the clean until you are most of the way across. Then usser the little ones over the bumps and finish rolling and unrolling. Buttons have a quiet call, nothing like a chick cheerping.. Finally it is best to get a cheap coffee grinder or to make due a rolling pin and powder your chick started. They do very well with this option. Jenn

Congratulations! My BQ are due to hatch one week from today! Yeah! Do you use chick starter or game bird feed.... Is there game bird starter?

Everyone has thier preferences but chick started or game bird feed is fine. These are very high energy babies so the higher protein is great. Also use a white brooder light instead of red. These little guys need to eat off and on all night so the white light lets them find the feed easily. They can sleep just fine!!! Jenn
