Since Blackula was taken I’ve noticed that my girls have been a lot louder. Two of them might be starting to become a broody because they have that puffed up look. One isn’t laying eggs right now, it seems. And one laid a soft shell yesterday. But over the last four days(one egg prior to Blackula’s abduction.
Question one: Is the loudness of the birds due to the fact of stress since they no longer have their male friend, or are they all just starting a broody cycle?
Question two: I’ve been leaving the eggs in the coop and they’ve been building a nest around it. One of the girls has been sitting on the eggs periodically for two days. Can I remove these eggs (and store at room temp) to put in an incubator later or has the incubation period already started because she has been sitting and it’s too late to remove them?
